Ultra-orthodox Jewish men set off to collect water on Sunday night. The water was to be used the following day to make matzah, the unleavened bread which is eaten throughout the festival of Passover. The holiday began at sundown on Monday.
The eight-day Jewish holiday has begun in Israel amid strained relations with both Palestinians and the United States
