Apolo Ohno, speed-skating, USA:

Short-track skater Ohno is only 27, but is bidding for his third Olympic gold medal and the nine-time world champion is favourite to defend his 500m crown. He took a break from skating after 2006 Games and in 2007 he won the US version of "Dancing with the Stars" with partner Julianne Hough.
