A row of stores destroyed in Port-au-Prince, capital of Haiti. The 7.0 magnitude quake, the largest to hit the Caribbean nation for 200 years, lasted only a minute. But it was enough to spark tsunami alerts and cause devastation. Witnesses have reported thousands dead. "Everything started shaking, people were screaming, houses started collapsing, it's total chaos," said Reuters reporter Joseph Guyler Delva.
