Polanski the fugitive
Polanski is internationally respected as a serious director for his arthouse and commercial films, such as 'Repulsion' (1965), 'Rosemary's Baby' (1968) and 'Death and the Maiden' (1994). Polanski also directed 1974's 'Chinatown', in which he appeared as 'man with knife' (above), cutting Jack Nicholson's nose. It was at Nicholson's mansion where Polanski committed the crime for which he is sought by US authorities.
