Benno Graziani perfected the art of living like a superstar without actually being one. As one of the principle photojournalists for Paris Match during the Fifties and Sixties, it was part of his day job to follow the glitterati to their summer hang-outs – be it the Amalfi coast or the French Riviera – and photograph them for public consumption. Money was no object it seems; Graziani and his colleagues were encouraged by Paris Match boss Jean Prouvost to 'spend what you want' and 'live like kings', provided they came back with exclusive, attention-grabbing shots. And with pals like Jackie Kennedy inviting him on holiday with her, Graziani did just that.
