MARA CARFAGNA: The TV showgirl who became Silvio Berlusconi's Minister for Equal Opportunities. Carfagna, 33, known by the Italian media as 'Mara la Bella', has been a Miss Italy contestant, a showgirl on Berlusconi's Mediaset TV, and a model. After she was elected to the Chamber of Deputies with Forza Italia in 2006, Berlusconi controversially said that he would marry her if he wasn't already married. His wife made him apologise publicly .
