Robert McNamara 1916-2009

Robert McNamara, US Secretary of Defence from 1961 to 1968, on a visit to the US Marine airfield in South Vietnam in 1965. McNamara served in World War Two before rising to become president of Ford. He was headhunted by President John F Kennedy.
One of the main architects of the Vietnam war died at his home in Washington today
