The New York Photo Festival is a green young thing but it's full of big promises: in only its second year it confidently pledges to showcase 'the future of contemporary photography'. The daunting task of encapsulating what that future might be has gone to four curators from various photographic fields, each of whom has shoe-horned their answers into their own themed exhibition. Their shows deal with expansive subjects - from depictions of women to the diverse and 'unruly' nature of photography - and include Jacob Holdt's portraits of 1970s America, Rene & Radka's intense studies of children (see The Swing, above) and Edith Maybin's digital hybrids of herself and her daughter.
