Gaza: the barrage continues

Israeli artillery fires from southern Israel towards targets in the Gaza Strip. Late on Thursday January 6, the UN Security Council passed a resolution demanding an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. On Friday afternoon, Israel and Hamas were still ignoring the pleas for peace, two weeks after the bombardment began.
