The opening of Dubai’s Atlantis

Fireworks explode on each frond of the Palm island complex. The £1bn Atlantis hotel looks out over the development, which is the world's biggest land reclamation project. Organisers claim it was seven times the size of the Beijing Olympics opening firework display.
