A line made up almost entirely of black voters snakes around the block in Harlem, New York. The 2008 voter turnout is expected to be the largest ever, mainly because Barack Obama's campaign has focused on attracting votes from communities that have never before turned out in large numbers on Election Day - particularly blacks, Hispanics and young people.
After the longest election campaign in American history, voters are turning out in record numbers
