Tunnelling into Gaza

Another calf is brought to the surface in the Gaza town of Rafah. Hamas endorses the tunnels – but charges the owners an annual 'licence' of 10,000 shekels plus daily fees for electricity and other facilities. With between 400-600 tunnels now in existence, 20 per cent of Rafah's municipal revenues are estimated to come from tunnel taxes.

Mexican police parade 15 members of an international gang suspected of smuggling Colombian cocaine through Mexico. The suspects, including 11 Colombians, two Mexicans, a Uruguayan and an American, were living in a mansion in Desierto de los Leones, an upmarket neighbourhood of Mexico City
