Johnny Cash: A Definitive Portrait at Proud Galleries, 32 John Adam Street, London WC2N 6BP, until Sep 14
He was a big deal while he was alive, but since his death five years ago, country singer Johnny Cash has had tributes and legendary status liberally heaped upon him - cemented by a Hollywood nod in the shape of Oscar-winning biopic 'Walk the Line' in 2005. A country and pop chart-topper during his heyday in the 50s and 60s, and a resurgent hit in the 90s, Cash is now the subject of a photographic exhibition that spans every stage of his career. These rarely seen images of the Man in Black – including early shots by Marvin Koner, lost for over 40 years and on show for the first time – are a classic mixture of snatched moments, both on stage and off.
