For four days only
While everyone else in the art world has closed shop for August and gone wherever they go to get fat and bronzed, hard-working gallerist Harry Pye is busy. He's given four artists - Chris Tosic, Marcus Freeman, Anka Dabrowska and Martin McGinn - a four day show each, accompanied by a 444-word essay by a distinguished art writer. Which is very fortuitous, fortunate or formidable (or whatever pun on 'four' you may prefer) for art audiences. This week's show is Marcus Freeman, and the essayist is the Guardian’s excellent Jessica Lack. Freeman's works are accomplished, elegantly abstracted - and well worth taking a look at.
