Inka Essenhigh at Victoria Miro Gallery from April 3 - May 2, 16 Wharf Road, N1 7RW, victoria-miro.com
Just when you thought that kitsch irony in art must have peaked, these paintings by Inka Essenhigh come along. They take bad taste to delirious new heights of convulsive, orgasmic vulgarity - to the great pleasure of those who like that kind of thing. Which seems to be a lot of people. Essenhigh's paintings are indebted to a combination of Salvador Dali, Hallmark greetings cards and creepy 70s children's illustrators like Janet and Anne Grahame Johnstone. There's a lot of labia and vagina stuff going on too - which makes a welcome change from willies - and the show looks like being a big success.
