A bridge ruined by floods in Medain, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. The Pakistani region, formerly Northwest Frontier province, has been badly affected by the worst monsoon floods in 80 years. The death toll has been estimated at between 800 and 1,500, but this could go much higher as access to affected areas is reopened. The army is also struggling to reach 27,000 people who remain stranded.
