Police patrol the streets of Sittwe in Burma's westernmost state of Rakhine (formerly known as Arakan), which was put under emergency rule on Sunday. Security forces were sent in to restore order after a wave of deadly rioting between Rakhine Buddhists and Rohingya Muslims. Violence spread across the state over the weekend following the murder of a Buddhist woman last month and an attack on a bus carrying Muslims last week.
