Buskers have been a feature of the Tube network for decades. The practice used to be illegal, but Transport for London now provides licences for buskers to perform in designated areas. Established as well as unknown artists have performed for London's commuters. The Libertines, Julian Lloyd-Webber, Badly Drawn Boy and Seasick Steve have all played on the Underground stage.
