The Tube at 150: London Underground in pictures
The Tube has experienced its fair share of tragedy. In July 2005, 52 people were killed in a series of suicide attacks on London's public transport network. Most of the victims died when bombs exploded on Underground trains between Aldgate and Liverpool Street, Russell Square and King's Cross St Pancras and Edgware Road and Paddington stations. A double-decker bus was also blown up. There have been other disasters on the Tube. In 1975, 43 people died in a crash at Moorgate Station and 31 were killed in a fire at King's Cross in 1987.
