Eyewitnesses told the BBC they heard "a very loud boom that sounded like an articulated lorry crashing" while police said there was nothing to indicate the incident was an act of terrorism.  Met Commissioner Bernard Hogan Howe added: "We believe there are 11 casualties, two fatalities and nine less seriously injured but one is critically ill. People are presenting themselves to different places."
