View from the Shard: London's tallest building opens - pictures

The View is the second-highest vantage point in Western Europe (after the Eiffel Tower) and at 244m above the ground it is almost twice as high as any other viewing platform in London. However, the English weather did its best to put a dampner on the grand opening. This was the view looking east from the Shard, with Tower Bridge visible and Canary Wharf in the distance.
