Alderweireld could be sold by Spurs

The Times reports that Toby Alderweireld could be on his way out of Tottenham this summer after contract talks reached a deadlock. The defender is demanding £150,000-a-week but Spurs have offered him £110,000-a-week. The Times says that Spurs are “willing” to sell the Belgian star and manager Mauricio Pochettino has backed the club’s decision.

Manchester City have yet to start formal contract talks with Raheem Sterling, says the Daily Mirror, and this has put Spanish giants Real Madrid on “red alert”. Sterling has two years left on his City deal and has impressed with 20 goals for Pep Guardiola’s side this season. The Mirror says even though Kevin De Bruyne and David Silva have agreed new contracts, City are “making Sterling wait” and Real could move for the England forward.

Gareth Bale likely to leave Real Madrid

According to The Independent, senior figures at Real Madrid are “privately admitting” they will let Gareth Bale leave at the end of the season. The Welsh forward is Real’s record signing but after an indifferent season the “end is coming” for Bale’s Spanish stay. Where he goes next is the big question. Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho says he won’t sign any more attackers this summer and Tottenham, who have first refusal, would have to shatter their wage structure to bring Bale back to the Premier League.

Jamaal Lascelles: Newcastle to Chelsea

Chelsea are keen to sign a centre-half in the summer and it’s reported by the London Evening Standard that the Blues are monitoring Newcastle United captain Jamaal Lascelles. The 24-year-old has impressed for Newcastle this season and is tipped for an England call-up “sooner rather than later” says the paper.

Nabil Fekir: Lyon to Arsenal

Sport newspaper in Spain says that Barcelona have “given up” on their interest in Lyon star Nabil Fekir. This means Arsenal are now favourites to sign the 24-year-old. The Daily Star suggests it will cost £45m for Lyon to part with Fekir this summer.

Pogba wants to be ‘valued’ by Mourinho

The Daily Mail says that Paul Pogba is seeking “more support” from Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho. The pair have reportedly fallen out and Pogba was left on the bench for the Champions League tie in Sevilla on Wednesday. The Mail understands that the French midfielder believes he has been “harshly treated by Mourinho” and wants to “feel valued again”.

England and Scotland want McTominay

England and Scotland will battle for Scott McTominay after his impressive performances for Manchester United. Both nations want the 21-year-old midfielder to play for them and ESPN says that England could hand him his debut next month. The youngster was born in England but qualifies for Scotland because of his grandparents.
