But Unai Emery sees Ramsey as a lynchpin in his rebuilding plans at the Emirates and the Mirror says the Spaniard is “desperate to tie him down”. Presumably to a new contract and nothing else, in which case Arsenal will have to come up with a sizeable sum.

With Mesut Ozil earning £350,000 a week for ambling around the Emirates, Ramsey is said to be demanding a hefty hike to his pay and the Mirror says he is expecting “around £250,000 a week”. If the Gunners refuse to accede to his request then Ramsey is likely to depart a free agent at the end of the season.

Another youngster set to leave Arsenal

The Evening Standard reports that Stephy Mavididi is the latest young English talent to leave the Emirates.

The paper says that the 20-year-old striker is “closing in on a remarkable move to Italian champions Juventus”. Apparently Mavididi arrived in Turin on Thursday to undergo his medical with the Serie A champs and the deal is expected to be announced later today.

Mavididi, who has had loan spells with Preston North End and Charlton, is seen by Juventus as a player with bags of potential, and they are ready to nurture that talent.

The Standard says that Mavididi is the latest in “an exodus of English talent to the continent” from Arsenal with Chris Willock, Kaylen Hinds and Jadon Sancho having already made the move overseas.

Bielik joins Charlton

Another highly-rated youngster on his way out of the Emirates is Krystian Bielik, The defender has joined Charlton on loan, confirms the Evening Standard.

The 20-year-old Pole spent time at Birmingham City and Walsall last season, and is set to see plenty of action at The Valley this term.

“Bielik, a long-term target for the Addicks, will add much-needed defensive cover to Lee Bowyer’s squad. Charlton have been unable to name a full compliment of substitutes in either of their first two League One matches and are particularly short of numbers at centre-back,” says the paper.

“Charlton has proven to be an effective proving ground for Arsenal youngsters, with Francis Coquelin and Stephy Mavididi both having enjoyed plenty of game time at The Valley.”
