Working alongside communities to find practical solutions to the poverty they face

LAST UPDATED AT 16:06 ON Fri 14 Dec 2012

International development doesn't need to just be about aid, and Practical Action's work is proof of this. Our strength is our approach. We find out what people are doing and help them to do it better. By doing this, each year we help around a million people break out of the cycle of poverty, for good. For example, our approach to development has enabled us to be one of the few charities continuing to work outside refugee camps in Darfur.
