These works were created by painting over images embedded in transparent resin - a bit reminiscent of the popular craft kits sold in the 1970s, with which hobbyists would solemnly embed things, like photographs of kittens. The artist, Fred Tomaselli, was first known for embedding actual cannabis leaves, and the stoned, cosmic theme continues in this excellent show, with a lot of intensely trippy imagery.
