The edgy, alternative enclave that is east London is currently being overrun by the photography industry. Since 2001, the area has been host to the annual Photomonth festival – a smattering of events that sees hundreds of international photographers descend on galleries (as well as more unlikely venues such as bars and shops) in an effort to reach as wide an audience as possible.
