Snake is a 'hole' new problem for hospital

A woman was forced to call for medical help after her pet ball python became lodged in a large piercing on her earlobe. Emergency workers in the US city of Portland, Oregon, were unable to free the reptile and drove Ashley Glawe to a local hospital, where the snake was carefully removed.

US 'bacon reserves' hit 50-year low

The United States's "bacon reserves" have hit their lowest levels since 1957 because people are eating more than is being supplied, says the Ohio Pork Council. The shortfall pushed up prices by more than 20 per cent in January.

Cartwheeling teacher arrested for indecency

A substitute teacher has been arrested and charged with indecent exposure after allegedly performing a cartwheel in class while wearing a skirt but no underwear. A student at Pawhuska High School, in Oklahoma, reportedly filmed the incident on a mobile phone.
