Sony Handycam HDR-TG7VE

The TG7 isn't exactly bad-looking, but it's the specifications that really impress. It records full 1080/50i HD, and has GPS which works brilliantly; you can tap the screen to set the focus and metering, and there's a super slow motion mode too. There's also face and even smile detection. Sony has come up with the ultimate consumer camcorder. It's desirable, easy to use, produces great results and is stuffed with advanced features. It'll set you back a few bob, but if you're serious about making beautiful films with beautiful hardware, it's worth it. ·
