IMAGES and specifications of Google's latest tablet have been leaked before its official unveiling.

Google's tablet, the Samsung Nexus 10, and its new smartphone, LG Nexus 4, were expected to be launched in New York today, but the event was cancelled at the last minute due to Hurricane Sandy.

However, information about the devices has been leaked online. Mobile news blog site Briefmobile lives up to its name, releasing a fleeting glimpse of the new tablet on YouTube, including a demonstration of its lock screen function.

The new device, made by Samsung, reportedly features the latest version of Google's Android operating system, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, and will have a 10.1 inch touch-screen with a resolution that is significantly higher than that of the iPad 4.

It is also expected to have an 8MP rear camera, panoramic photo capture system and a 1.5GHz quad-core processor.

While it is not known where the video and specifications of the Nexus 10 came from, Wired reported last week that one of Google's staff members managed to leave a Nexus 4 prototype in a bar in California last month.

Google reportedly approached the bartender who recovered the handset and offered him a freebie if he promised to keep quiet about the phone until after the launch.
