Royal wedding spoof tops YouTube’s 2011 viral chart
T-Mobile’s dancing royal lookalikes beat off competition from Google Chrome and John Lewis
A SPOOF of the Royal Wedding created by mobile phone company T-Mobile has topped a list of 2011’s most-viewed viral ads in the UK. YouTube preferred not to divulge how many Brits had viewed each ad, but over 24 million people worldwide have watched the ‘T-Mobile Royal Wedding’ ad, which depicts royal lookalikes dancing down the aisle of a church.
In second place was an ad for Google Chrome tracing the rise of video producer Jamal Edwards and his company SB.TV. Also on the list is John Lewis’s painfully sentimental Christmas ad starring a boy who can’t wait to give his parents their present, and an ad for KIA that proves cats remain one of the biggest obsessions among internet users.
