London toy shop open eight new shops around the world in past year
Hamley's, the 252-year-old London toy shop, has posted a huge leap in profits just months after being acquired by Groupe Ludendo of France for £60 million. Profits for the year to 31 March shot up by 250 per cent to £2.3 million. Sales rose by 6.3 per cent. The company has opened eight new shops around the world in the past year, including branches in Russia, Sweden, the Middle East, The Independent reports. Hamley's now has 20 shops around the world outside the UK and Ireland.
