Catholic priest projects gay porn images to school parents

Holy Communion

Father Martin McVeigh accidentally showed indecent images during First Holy Communion meeting

A CATHOLIC priest setting up a slideshow for parents of children taking their First Holy Communion "inadvertently" showed images of gay porn to his audience, the BBC reports.

The incident, at St Mary's Primary School in Pomeroy, Northern Ireland, is now being investigated by the child protection office of the Armagh Diocese.

The 26 parents of pupils who attended the meeting last week said the priest, Father Martin McVeigh, had inserted a memory stick into a computer linked up to the school projector system but rather than the expected Eucharistic guidance for children, they witnessed 16 graphic images of men.

"[The priest] was visibly shaken and flustered," said the parents. "He gave no explanation or apology to the group and bolted out of the room." The co-ordinator and the teachers then continued with the presentation.

"The meeting continued in his absence. However, the parents who viewed the pictures were horrified and distracted," the parents said.

"Twenty minutes later he returned. He continued with the meeting and wrapped up by saying that the children get lots of money for their Holy Communion and should consider giving some of it to the church."

Father McVeigh told the Ulster Herald: "I don't know how it happened but I know what happened. There are people making innuendoes who weren't even there but in this day and age these stories grow." He has added that the memory stick was owned by the parish and used by other people.

A planned protest by parents outside the Church of the Assumption in Pomeroy, where Father McVeigh officiates over Mass, was cancelled on Sunday when McVeigh failed to turn up. No explanation has been offered by the Church for his absence. ·

Once again, 'the church' is more interested in offering excuses rather than addressing the problem, and no doubt the Connittee of Cover Up and Denial will issue a statement. It may indeed be a valid excuse that other people used the memory stick - BUT - have they entirely missed the piints that a) images deemed indecent were shown to children, b) someone within the office or at work must have loaded them intentionally, and most of all C) appointing their own enquiry - the church's own 'Child Protection Office' is akin to putting a rabbit in charge of a lettuce. But again, because it's the Cathiolic Church, all will be covered up and forgiven and no doubt someone will be ushered off to 'a retreat', to be yet again let into a community and access to children once again. Well done the Church for their transparency in these matters!

Big hairy men getting hot and sweaty with eachother.Oh well.If it was naked women the response might have been more tepid. Its about stupidity here .Not about denials and cover ups.Its not child abuse .
Very embarrasing though. At least it wasnt pictures of one of the kids dads buggering him inadvertantly displayed. Then again we would be even more entertained,So what this in its raw sense per say is entertainment for we the vulgar masses.
