Tabloid Tales: actor gives Babe Ruth baseball; Katie Holmes spends fortune on daughter's gifts

HELLRAISER Charlie Sheen has run up a few expensive bills in his time but nothing compared to his latest party, which has inadvertently cost him £1.6m. The Daily Mirror claimed the Hollywood actor was a little too taken with the festive spirit when he gave fellow star Zac Efron a baseball signed by the legendary Babe Ruth. Sheen totally forgot about handing over the collectors' item until seeing the slot where the ball used to sit. He is now too"embarrassed/polite" to ask The Lucky One star for the ball back, claims the paper.
Katie Holmes has spent more than £30,000 on Christmas presents for her daughter Suri Cruise, including a £15,000 Victorian playhouse, says The Sun. The actress spent much of the year going through a messy split with Suri's father, Tom Cruise, before enjoying critical success in Broadway play Dead Accounts. Holmes's presents to her six-year-old daughter also include a £6,000 children's version of a Mercedes car, a Ralph Lauren dress, Chloe fur coat and an iPad mini. The playhouse has running water and electricity.
X Factor winner James Arthur enjoyed a very public date with former Made In Chelsea star Kimberley Garner. The couple were spotted leaving Chinese restaurant Hakkasan in central London together on Sunday night, reports the Daily Mail. Following their intimate meal, the pair jumped into a taxi and headed to West End bar Sketch to continue their evening. The paper reported that even though it was their first date, it looked like it was going well"as they left holding hands". Garner later tweeted "Tonight was a fairy tale", while Arthur tweeted "Today has been incredible. Love to all #LOVE."
Goth music star Marilyn Manson had to have his ear sewn back on after a bar brawl – but still claimed he was the winner of the fight. The singer tweeted a picture of his right ear after telling fans that he'd needed 24 stitches after a brawl in which he was hit with a glass table. Although he chose not to reveal the full details of the bloody skirmish, he wrote: "I was hit by a glass table in a dangerous fight. I was however, the victor but had to have 24 stitches to keep my ear from becoming Van Goth."
