Interpretive dancing: the only way to quit your job - video
All you need is a video camera, some Kanye West, and an empty office - oh and the moves of course
We've all dreamt of quitting a job in spectacular fashion, but perhaps not often via the means of an interpretive dance to Kanye West's Gone, in the office at 4.30am.
That's how US journalist Marina Shifrin announced she was leaving her job at Next Media Animation, a website that produces satirical animated videos based on news content.
Fed up with her boss, whom she accused of being more interested in quantity than quality of work, she decided to air her grievances in a particularly creative fashion.
“For almost two years I've sacrificed my relationships, time and energy for this job," she says in subtitles at the beginning of the video.
"I believe it's more important to focus on the quality of the content. When you learn to improve this, the views will come. Here is a little video I made explaining my feelings."
She told the Huffington Post, "I understood that it was a risk, but I never named the company or my boss and I mean, have you seen my dancing? How can anyone take that seriously?"
After racking up over 4m hits on YouTube, she probably won't be jobless for long. ·
