Femen mastermind outed as man who calls women 'bitches'

Victor Svyatski hand-picks 'prettiest girls' for topless protests because they ‘sell more papers'

THE Ukranian feminist group Femen - renowned for staging protests featuring topless young women - is controlled by a man who yells at them and calls them "bitches", a new documentary claims.

Ukraine is not a Brothel also reveals that Victor Svyatski, who is "outed" as the founder and mastermind of the group, hand-picks the prettiest girls for their media-friendly protests.

Femen has achieved a global media profile by protesting against sexual and political repression using "carefully-choreographed media stunts" featuring topless young women, The Independent says. The group's slogan states: "Our mission is protest, our weapons are bare breasts."

But a new documentary made by 28-year-old Australian film-maker Kitty Green suggests it is a man, Svyatski, who calls all the shots.

"It's his movement and he hand-picked the girls," Green told the paper. "He hand-picked the prettiest girls because the prettiest girls sell more papers. The prettiest girls get on the front page... that became their image, that became the way they sold the brand."

Several members of Femen arrived in Venice today (see picture, above) to attend the launch of Ukraine is not a Brothel at the city's film festival.

Green says Svyatski was initially reluctant to speak to her on camera. When he finally relented he sought to justify his role within the organisation, acknowledging the paradox of being a "patriarch" running a feminist protest group.

"These girls are weak," he says in the film. "They don't have the strength of character. They don't even have the desire to be strong. Instead, they show submissiveness, spinelessness, lack of punctuality, and many other factors which prevent them from becoming political activists. These are qualities which it was essential to teach them."

Asked by Green if he started Femen to "get girls", Svyatski replies: "Perhaps yes, somewhere in my deep subconscious."

In the film, a member of Femen describes the female activists' relationship with Svyatski as being akin to "Stockholm syndrome", the condition in which hostages feel sympathy for their captors. ·

I am really blown away by the contradiction between Green's claimed support of Femen and her role now in what appears to be it's 'debunking'. The 'patriarch' is not on the front lines, risking his @ss, but the fact that there *may* be a puppet master so to speak (have not seen the film so I can't really attest to what Green claims) seems to be being used to completely invalidate what these women are doing. A more interesting question is surfacing for me here...does the fact that the women are young and attractive in some cases invalidate their bravery? Does it invalidate their risking their lives? Does it invalidate their cuts and bruises, their court cases, their jail time, the fact that they have been assaulted and beaten up in almost every feminist action they have taken? What is this underlying pathological hatred or jealousy vs. attractive women that says that the presence of beauty invalidates every heroic or noble deed the possessor of such might commit? Since I have watched these women from the beginning with keen interest, I am finding they are uncovering yet another pathological strain in the human subconscious, which will lead to yet another interesting discussion.

I'm not getting that there's a problem with beautiful women, just that there's a problem with only selecting the most beautiful in an 'ends justifies means' way that is pretty similar to the beauty industry's exploitation of women (and of course building their insecurities so they feel they need that industry's products). There are contrubutions to be had from those who dont meet this conventional stereotype of beauty. I think that these activists (if they ever were that rather than victims) should have been smart enough to smell a rat.

Indigenous commentators said VOINA ( P*ssy Riot) and FEMEN were akin to the Spahn Movie Ranch. In the west naked girl flesh is usually good enough a distraction for a major war.

Only the west could think that throwing stolen cats at a deep-fryer constituted human rights activism. Human rights activism does not begin with a Stockholm syndrome equation and the difference between a pimp and something else is whether it looks like a sex show or not. FEMEN were destroying monuments to Soviet repression, how enlightened or cool is that? P*ssy Riot took their name from a cat abuse stunt at a fast food restaurant.

LOL

Lol. I remember the tits. The message never hit home.

Exactly, the message will however hit Syria unless Putin can stop it.

The internet and the brazenly fabicated PR has become a tool for NATO's wars.

Thoughtfulness, discernment, comprehension, not something in the west that can survived the FEMEN project. Similarly, P*ssy Riot were a gift to the western intelligence services.

The same fake video mass production cycle that dominates Syria, is now being directed towards gay genocide productions relating to Russia.

The bigger and more grotesque the lie the better.

"The 'patriarch' is not on the front lines, risking his @ss"

In the Ukraine it was known to the security services to be a foreign money, pimp project with anti-state objectives. His life was in far more danger than the girls, it was only in the west that the gullible 'breast fetish' media ran with a 'clever girl story'.

The severe injuries he suffered, because of FEMEN, the real thing. He could have been killed.

Similarly, the weapons confiscation, by state officials, at the FEMEN offices possibly genuine. The FEMEN project was slowly becoming far more deadly.

Remember, FEMEN called for the murder of high officials.
