Dancing, eating biscuits and drinking beer are among the curious things British people do in the shower, according to a new study. Having sex, making a phone call and watching a television show on a tablet were also popular activities while lathering up.

Woman reunited with wallet after 75 years

An American woman has been reunited with her stolen wallet 75 years after it went missing. The wallet belonging to Seth Baltzell of Missouri was discovered during a renovation at her old high school. “While someone took the cash they left behind all the pictures, information and other documents,” she said.

Florida woman ‘pees in rival shop’s ice cream maker’

A woman in Florida has been accused of urinating in a rival shop owner’s ice cream machine. Jung Soon Wypcha allegedly destroyed about $2,000 worth of stock at Lu Lu’s Ice Cream Shop in Indian Shores. She has been charged with criminal mischief and tampering with consumer products and released on $5,000 bail.

The UK’s most disliked food revealed

Olives are the UK’s most hated food, according to a new survey, knocking Brussels sprouts off the podium of unpopularity. More than a third of Brits named olives as their least favourite food. They were followed by gherkins and seafood in the HelloFresh study. Mushrooms, raisins and chicken on the bone were also in the top ten.

Store’s slogans shame plastic bag users

A supermarket in Vancouver is shaming customers who use their plastic bags by emblazoning them with embarrassing slogans. The East West Market store has printed the names of fictional brands on the bags, including Wart Ointment Wholesale, The Colon Care Co-Op and Into The Weird Adult Video Emporium. “We wanted to give them something humorous, but also something that made them think at the same time,” said the store owner.

Suspect farts his way into custody

A suspect hiding from police in Missouri passed wind so loudly that it gave up his hiding spot. Officers were looking for a person who had a felony warrant out for arrest for possession of a controlled substance, when he expelled gas, leading them directly to him. Authorities say no one was harmed in the arrest.

‘Weather control plane’ seen before California earthquakes

A US spy plane that was spotted before California’s recent earthquakes was involved in a weather control operation, according to online conspiracy theories. “The moment these double earthquakes began down Los Angeles, we happened to see this highly classified reconnaissance space plane floating by in the general area of space,” said Tyler Glockner.

Chef launches 4,000-calorie ‘mega death’ meal

A chef has launched a “mega death” meal at his restaurant in Australia. The Govanhill Munchie Box, the brainchild of Scottish-born Chris Orr, includes deep fried pizza, chips with curry sauce, hot buffalo wings, Haggis pakora, battered sausages, kebabs, cheddar slaw and chicken tikka, making for a colossal 4,000 calories.

Nurses ‘off their faces’ after grandfather gives them cannabis cake

Nurses were said to be “off their faces” after a “nice old man” handed them a red velvet sponge cake laced with cannabis as a present. Police were called to Warrington Hospital in Cheshire after staff unwittingly ate cake spiked with the drug. The grandfather who gave the present was said to be unaware of the exotic ingredient.

Police have discovered a major cannabis farm in a former police station. Failsworth Police Station was the headquarters for Oldham’s Neighbourhood Policing Team until it was closed six years ago as a result of budget cuts. Earlier this month, passing officers noticed the building was open and stepped in to find evidence of a "huge cannabis production" operation.

Pilot films ‘UFOs’ flying over Grand Canyon

A pilot has filmed what he says are two circular objects flying over the Grand Canyon. After the video was uploaded to the internet, UFO theorists left no doubt over their interpretation. One commenter said: “Alien ships!” Another remembered when she saw “something that looked like it was cigar-shaped” there.

Macca is dead theory linked to Ancient Egypt

The conspiracy theory that holds that Paul McCartney is dead may have a symbolic link to ancient Egypt, according to a theorist. Andrew Arnett says the Egyptian concept of the scarab beetle is a “metaphor for initiation and, for the Egyptians, an initiation into Egyptian mysteries”. He adds: “This Paul is Dead thing, I am looking at it as an initiation.” He explains that he believes McCartney was “reborn” and initiated into something mysterious in 1966.

A little-known entrance at the back of the Great Sphinx in Egypt back may lead to a Pharaoh's burial chamber, according to an expert. “I’m convinced that the shaft in the back of the Sphinx does lead to a chamber,” says Matthew Sibson, an ancient history writer and YouTuber.

Passengers wears 15 tops to avoid baggage charge

A passenger from Scotland wore 15 tops to board a flight home from Nice to avoid paying EasyJet’s baggage charge. John Irvine was told his bag was eight kilograms too heavy and that he could not check it in without paying a fee. To avoid the fee, he wore eight kilograms worth of clothes, despite temperatures of around 30C in the southern French city.

NYPD officers 'pay for shoplifter's food'

Police in New York paid for a desperate shoplifter’s food, according to reports. While at Whole Foods supermarket in Union Square, Paul Bozymowski, a film and TV director, tweeted: “This woman was being held by security. She had food in her bag she didn't pay for. When the NYPD showed up, they paid for her food. Happy 4th!”
