Best reusable water bottles of 2020
As we become more conscious of plastic waste, many of us are turning away from disposable water bottles and investing in something to refill and reuse. Here’s the best of the bunch, including filters, fruit-infusers and vacuum refrigeration bottles.
The best water bottles to buy
Ion8 Ultimate Leak Proof Water Bottle
The Ion8’s flip-top cover and lid lack let you use it one-handedly with minimal risk of spillage, making it ideal for sports use. It is also free from BPA (bisphenol A, a chemical used in some plastics, which may be associated with health risks). Odour-resistant and dishwasher-safe, it’s a practical water bottle at an excellent price.

S’well vacuum water bottle
Offering a wide range of stylish designs, from iridescent metallics to animal prints, the S’well bottle has become a familiar sight in gyms and offices. There’s substance to match the style, too: the stainless steel S’well has a double-skin construction like a vacuum flask, which will keep hot drinks hot for hours and cold water chilled all day.
S’well, amazon.co.uk, from £21
Willceal Fruit Infuser Water Bottle
If you're someone who struggles to drink plain old boring water all day, then why not get yourself a fruit infuser bottle like this one from Willceal. The simple innovation is an extra compartment in the centre of the bottle that can be filled with the chopped fruit of your choice - the contents will then work to flavour your water throughout the day.
willceal, amazon.co.uk, £10.00
Chilly’s Reusable Water Bottle
Similar in both function and appearance to the S’well vacuum bottle, the insulated Chilly flask will keep cold drinks cool for up to 24 hours. They come in two sizes (260ml and 500ml) and a range of attractive designs - although the design began to wear away after a couple of months of regular use, revealing the stainless steel skin.
Chilly, amazon.co.uk, from £15
Klean Kanteen Classic Sports Bottle
While not as well insulated as the S’well and Chilly, the Klean Kanteen is a more convenient choice for the gym or on a run. It has a flip-up sports lid that lets you take a slurp on the go - and if you do want the added security of a screwtop, for example, if you’re stashing a bottle in your luggage, you can buy one separately. The bottle is available in a wide range of colours, from luminous orange to hot pink to “lemon curry”.
Klean Kanteen, amazon.co.uk, £18.95
