Sales of sex toys have soared across the UK during the coronavirus lockdown - with one city leading the way. In the first two weeks of lockdown alone, orders for adult toys increased by 25% nationwide, the Daily Mirror reports. The frisky citizens of Worcester in the West Midlands made the most purchases, followed closely behind by buyers in Galashiels in the Scottish Borders and the Dorset resort of Bournemouth.
Serial record breaker wins T-shirt challenge
A US man has set a new world record during a Guinness World Records weekly challenge by putting on ten T-shirts in only 15.61 seconds. David Rush, from Idaho, has broken more than 100 Guinness records to promote STEM education. He said he had sweated a lot during training for the #GWRchallenge on social media, in which people are invited to film themselves donning T-shirts at record speeds.
Japanese monster Amabie reappears during pandemic
The coronavirus pandemic has triggered a surge in interest in a mythical monster from Japanese folklore that is said to repel plagues. Amabie - “a beak-nosed, long-locked mythical mermaid monster,” according to news agency AFP - has become a trending Twitter hashtag and is featuring on products in Japan ranging from face masks and hand sanitisers to cakes.
