China denies canning human flesh for export

China's ambassador to Zambia has officially denied that his country has been exporting human flesh for sale in Africa. The Daily Post, a Zambian tabloid, picked up a story from a Facebook post that purported to show human remains being butchered, marinated and canned, marked as "corned beef". The Daily Post suggested the reason for the gruesome exports was that China had "run out of space to bury its dead". The Zambian government has issued an apology to Beijing.

Man arrested with pot, gun and a box of squirrels

A Detroit man has been arrested after he was found in possession of a gun, a quantity of marijuana and a box of live baby squirrels. Ian Breiholz, 32, is well known to local police, who told local reporters that Breiholz "likes to go through the garbage", which is where they believe he found the squirrels. He faces charges of felony in possession of a weapon and improperly transporting medical marijuana. The squirrels have been handed over to animal control for release back into the wild.

160lb weight limit for strippers defeated

A Louisiana lawmaker has been criticised for proposing an amendment to a bill which would have set a maximum weight limit for exotic dancers in that state at 160lbs. Representative Kenny Harvard was forced to withdraw the amendment, which would have also set a maximum age limit for dancers at 28 years old. He later said the amendment was a tongue-in-cheek protest at state over-regulation.
