10 highest-paid actresses and how much they are worth

Jennifer Lawrence tops Forbes list for second year in a row, earning $46m in 2015

Forbes has revealed its annual list of the world's best-paid actresses – and a couple of names might surprise you.

Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence takes the top spot for the second year running, earning $46m before taxes over the last 12 months. Melissa McCarthy came in second with $33m, having proved herself a bankable comedy lead with several box office hits since her scene-stealing turn in 2011's Bridesmaids.

Of the remaining eight ultra-wealthy women of the silver screen, two names may be unfamiliar to western audiences.

Chinese actress Fan Bingbing has been named the most influential celebrity in China by Forbes for three years in a row. While the vast majority of her work has been in her homeland, comic book fans will know her as Blink in X Men: Days of Future Past.

Meanwhile, Deepika Padukone has starred in some of the highest-grossing Bollywood film of all time and become one of India's most beloved and ubiquitous personalities.

While they remain minor players in Hollywood, their enormous success in their native countries is enough to propel Bingbing and Padukone into the global top ten.
