Rihanna and Drake: Why everyone's talking about a shark tattoo
Fresh hope for the 'Aubrih' romance as Bajan star sports a new inking with 'special significance'
Rihanna has a new tattoo - and everyone is talking about it.
The small camouflage shark inked onto her ankle has a "special significance", if the internet is to be believed, acting as further proof the Bajan singer is in a relationship with rapper Aubrey "Drake" Graham.
Rihanna and Drake are said to be the "Ross and Rachel" of the hip-hop world, an are-they-aren't-they couple teasing their fans with chemistry-filled performances.
They released two hit duets earlier this year, while Drake introduced Rihanna at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday as "someone I've been in love with since I was 22-years-old" - before going in for an awkward kiss (pictured above).
"While Hiddleswift [Tom Hiddleston and Taylor Swift] may have dominated headlines with their recent summer romance, we have our eye on another famous pairing: Drake and Rihanna," says Vogue. The couple have earned themselves the sobriquet "Aubrih".
Tattoo artist Keith McCurdy, "better known as 'Bang' thanks to twin pistols on his neck", inked the shark in Drake's dressing room at a concert in Miami on Wednesday night, reports Vanity Fair.
"That camo shark now swimming on Rih's ankle appears to be a recreation of a stuffed toy shark she got on a rumoured date with Drake at Ripley's Aqua Canada in Toronto last month, presumably a gift from Aubrey," says Vulture.
People magazine describes it as a "secret love note to Drake", while TMZ declares: "If a kiss don't confirm it, a tattoo will."
