Harry Redknapp drags wife along road in freak car accident
Sandra Redknapp seriously injured after catching her coat in Range Rover door
Harry Redknapp's wife Sandra has been hospitalised after a "freak accident" in which she was dragged along the street by his Range Rover.
She was being dropped off at shops in Bournemouth, around four miles from the couple's home in Poole, when she caught her coat in the four-by-four's door and trapped her foot in the footwell, reports the London Evening Standard.
She was then dragged down the road with the car as her husband drove away. It was only when she screamed in agony that he realised and hit the brakes.
A witness told The Sun there was "a lot of blood on the tarmac" and the former Premier League manager was "beside himself".
Another said: "I was in a shop and a couple of people came in and said, 'Crikey, there's a lady who's been dragged along the road.'
"Then someone else came in and said it was Harry Redknapp, who had just dropped his wife off.
"I heard as he drove off she got her coat caught in the door. She was dragged along the road before he realised."
Redknapp suffered serious injuries and heavy bleeding and was rushed to hospital in an ambulance. Her husband has reportedly been sitting by her bedside as she recovers.
A friend of the family said: "Sandra did have an accident and was taken to hospital where she had an op. It's a long story, but she should be OK."
The couple have been married for 49 years and have two sons, Mark and former England football star Jamie.
