Beauty sleep: Turnbull & Asser's pyjamas for women

Make it a night in – the royal shirtmaker's tailoring expertise now extends to ladies' loungewear

Turnbull & Asser's shirts need little introduction. They've acted as the sartorial support to Sean Connery's James Bond, dressed the world's leading diplomats, including Sir Winston Churchill and Ronald Reagan, and clothed creatives from Charlie Chaplin to Picasso. So favoured are they by one of its regulars, Prince Charles that in 1980 he handed out his first royal warrant to the brand.

However, the quintessentially English clothier has another string to its bow – its equally well-tailored and luxurious pyjamas. Similarly, these have had their own brushes with fame, playing a leading role in one of the most famous bedroom-based scenes in modern history – Yoko Ono and John Lennon's sit-in protest at the Hilton Hotel in Amsterdam in 1969 – as the attire of choice for the former Beatle.
