‘Pigzilla’ raids public bin just metres away from Hong Kong school

Parents spotted the giant boar eating rubbish as they walked with their children

A video of a giant boar in Hong Kong dubbed “pigzilla” has gone viral.

The shocking footage sees the humongous creature raiding a public bin reportedly just metres away from a nearby primary school.

The short clip “shows the animal with three of its own little ones, who all seem to patiently wait at her trotters while she gets them a meal,” says the Daily Mirror.

“She is seen grabbing at a rubbish bag with her teeth as she balances her feet on the edge of the rubbish bin.”

The video which was originally posted to Facebook by Hong Kong native Tu Dong, has been shared more than 5,000 times.

More than 2,500 social media users also commented on the video, “many of which expressed concern about how close the wild pigs were to the school,” says News Australia.

One such user, Misaki Ceci wrote: “The wild pig is in front of the left school. I’m careful with Hyung-Hyung’s primary school, and I’ve got a wild boar.”

Others online defended the animal saying that not enough is being done to provide adequate food and habitation.

One said: “It's so hungry, and the wild boar has the right to live and freedom. He is only hungry.”

And another added: "Many wild boars (are so hungry) they come to farms to steal their crops."
