Bafta TV nominations 2018: the full list
British television awards to include gong for year’s ‘must-see moment’
On Sunday 13 May, a star-studded crowd will celebrate the best of British television in the Bafta’s annual TV awards ceremony.
The nominations, released today, are dominated by familiar titles, with royal biopic The Crown, period gangster drama Peaky Blinders and Charlie Brooker’s bleak sci-fi series Black Mirror all up for awards.
However, the nominations also highlight lesser-known gems from the year’s TV viewing. Jack Rowan is up for the Leading Actor award for his portrayal of a sociopathic teen in Channel 4 thriller Born To Kill, while BBC Three sitcom This Country gets two nominations.

Three Girls, the BBC’s hard-hitting dramatisation of the Rochdale child grooming scandal, won nods in two acting categories - with Molly Windsor up for Leading Actress and Liv Hill up for Supporting Actress - and is also among the nominees for the best miniseries award.
In the award for the best news coverage, Channel 4 and ITV go head to head for their reporting of the Grenfell fire disaster, alongside Sky News’ coverage of the battle to drive Islamic State out of Mosul and the unfolding Rohingya crisis in Myanmar.
Nominees for the Must-See Moment award, sponsored by Virgin, include everything from Stormzy’s surprise appearance on Love Island to the unveiling of Jodie Whittaker as the first female Doctor Who.
