Video: Suzie the ‘psychic pig’ and the ‘mystic meerkats’ predict England vs. Denmark winner

Watch the animals give their verdicts on the Three Lions’s chances in the Euro 2020 semi-final

When it comes to football predictions, who should you ask? Pundits and fans are a good starting point, but if you really want to discover the outcome of a major match then you’d better get the verdicts of our animal friends.

Since Paul the octopus won the hearts of footie fans during the 2010 Fifa World Cup, fortune-telling animals have been tasked with predicting winners, says CNN

During Euro 2020 Suzie the psychic pig from Ouseburn Farm in Newcastle-upon-Tyne has become a bit of a cult hero by correctly predicting that England would beat Germany and the Ukraine.

Ouseburn Farm manager Hugh Stolliday told The Chronicle that staff think Suzie has a gift. “We believe in Suzie’s psychic powers,” he said. “She’s a superstar down here at Ouseburn Farm and a favourite of the public, staff and volunteers alike.”

The Three Lions will be looking for all the help they can get ahead of the semi-final against Denmark. Here’s some of the best animal predictions.

Suzie the psychic pig

Suzie the 15-stone psychic porker has a snout for soccer, says the Daily Star. She has given her prediction for the semi-final clash by choosing a bucket of food with the team flag on. Can Suzie help the Three Lions bring home the bacon?

Mystic meerkats

A group of “mystic meerkats” from Drusillas Park in East Sussex have correctly predicted wins for England against Germany and the Ukraine, the Daily Mirror reports. Watch as meerkats Ross, Rachel, Joey, Phoebe, Monica, Chandler, Tamu, Tyson and new pups Kane and Sterling predict the winner of the semi-final.
