2018 quiz of the year: how closely were you paying attention?

Take The Week’s 2018 news quiz to see if you remember the year’s biggest events

From royal weddings and dramatic cave rescues to football almost coming home, 2018 was certainly a year to remember.

Brexit remains the biggest conundrum in Europe while Trump, Putin and Xi Jinping were the biggest players on the global stage.

2018 was also the year that saw us take one step closer to finding life on Mars, but we also suffered catastrophic weather events from wildfires in California to the Beast from the East in the British Isles.

Comfortingly perhaps, the UK still failed to make its mark in Eurovision – at least there was one thing we could count on.

So how closely were you really paying attention to the news this year? Take The Week’s 2018 quiz below to find out.
