Jaguar F-Type review: what the car critics say
The F-Type remains a ‘refreshingly old school’, ‘wildly good-looking car’
In its latest incarnation, the F-Type remains a “refreshingly old school”, “wildly good-looking car”, said Top Gear Magazine.
The old V6 engine has been replaced with a great supercharged V8, and all models have eight-speed automatic transmission. The entry point is the rear-driven 2.0-litre P300, but it doesn’t dazzle as a sports car compared with the rest of the line-up, topped by the über-powerful 567bhp AWD, P575 F-Type R.
Available as either a coupé or a convertible, the facelifted F-Type has “sweeter steering, a crisper chassis” and, in the 575 R guise, a “thundering performance to match”, with a top speed of almost 190mph, said Auto Express.

Whichever model you go for you’ll get a “superb driving experience”, with excellent body control, strong grip and a supple ride. All models have 20-inch alloys and LED headlights.
The F-Type’s driver-focused interior has a pleasingly uncluttered wraparound dashboard with a crisp digital ten-inch touchscreen as standard, plus Apple CarPlay, DAB radio and built in satnav, said What Car?.
Its two seats have plenty of legroom thanks to the low seat position, which, though “suitably sporty”, does restrict visibility a bit.
The boot space isn’t huge, and if you add in a spare wheel it shrinks dramatically.
Price from about £58,000.
