Six of the best cordless vacuum cleaners
With prices ranging from £130 to £630
1. Halo Capsule
Unlike most cordless units, the Halo has a 1.6-litre removable dust bag, rather than an easy-empty bin. Battery life is excellent at 60 minutes, and it has a light weight 2.6kg carbon fibre construction.
2. Vax ONEPWR Blade 4
Easy to use and to empty, this model has a 45-minute battery life but comes with a spare to double its runtime. At 3.1kg it is a bit heavier than some, but it has powerful suction and the option of an extra powerful turbo mode.

3. Miele Triflex HX1 Pro
This sleek cleaner comes with attachments, including an extra battery which doubles cleaning time to two hours. At 3.6kg, it is heavier than most, but it makes up for it in suction power.
4. Shark Anti Hair Wrap IZ320UKT
Excellent for pet hair, with angled fins and anti-hairwrap technology, this vacuum also comes with two batteries (two hours’ total runtime). But at 4.6kg, it is heavy.
5. Dyson V15 Detect Absolute
A significant outlay at over £600, this excellent Dyson is light (at 2.7kg), but still has powerful suction. It has a laser in the head to illuminate dust, a 60-minute battery life, and a range of attachments.
6. Hoover H-Free 300 HF322HM
The H-Free has a lithium-ion battery that lasts for 40 minutes and can be converted into a handheld for spot cleaning. At just 2.5kg, it’s lightweight and compact, with simple controls.
