An “all-time classic” - that’s how the i newspaper sums up Wednesday night’s Champions League thriller between Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur.

After seven goals and VAR dramas, Spurs qualified for the semi-finals where they will face Ajax next. Tottenham may have lost to City 4-3 on the night but the north London side progressed on the away goals rule after the tie finished 4-4 on aggregate.

“Hip, hip, hooray” says The Guardian’s back page which focuses on Fernando Llorente’s effort for Spurs which was referred to VAR. Despite claims of handball the goal stood.

Defeat in the Champions League quarter-final tie also means that Man City’s quest to win a quadruple this season is now over. Pep Guardiola’s side now have to go for the domestic treble.

Both the Daily Star and Daily Mirror headlines shout “Oh my quad” after a crazy night at the Etihad while The Times says that Spurs and VAR have destroyed City’s dreams of winning four trophies.

The Daily Telegraph sums up the dramatic Champions League clash with just one word... “Unbelievable”.
